Police: Man riding bike tries to rob Va. bank

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- The Prince William County Police Department is searching for a suspect in connection with an attempted bank robbery that happened at a Bank of America in Woodbridge Wednesday morning.

Police said, the attempted robbery happened at a Bank of America located at 1708 Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge around 10:10 a.m.

According to authorities, the man went up to the drive-up teller on a black or dark colored bicycle and demanded money. Authorities said, the suspect claimed to have a bomb in his backpack.

Police said, no money was stolen and the man biked off before police got to the scene.

The suspect is being described as a white or light skinned man in his early to mid-twenties. He is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall. He weighs around 150 pounds and has a thin build, authorities said. He was last seen wearing all black or dark colored clothing with a hat, aviator style glasses and a bandana.
