Gun rights activist to remain in custody

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) --Gun rights activist Adam Kokesh was ordered to remain in a D.C. jail after his recent arrest for allegedlycarrying a firearm in the District outside of his home or office.

You may remember the YouTube video Kokesh posted on July 4, which appeared to show him loading a shotgun in Freedom Plaza.

In addition to ordering Kokesh to remain in jail, thejudge scheduled Kokesh's next court hearing for August 13.

Kokesh also faces drug charges in Fairfax County. He was arrested July 9 for possessing hallucinogenic mushrooms while also having a gun at his home in Herndon, Va.
