Gonzalez testified Tuesday that he shot his wife, 42-year-old Julie Gonzalez, in self-defense after she attacked him during an argument. The shooting occurred on April 19, 2013.

Prosecutors say Gonzalez staged the crime scene.

Gonzalez has been suspended from his job pending the outcome of the case.
