Boy injured in Va. hit-and-run crash, driver sought

STAFFORD, VA. (WUSA9) - Police are looking for a driver who struck an 11-year-old boy with a truck and then fled the scene, the Stafford Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. Saturday in the England Run North apartment complex. When deputies arrived, they found the victim, an 11-year-old boy.

According to deputies, the boy was trying to cross Cynthias Place on his bike when he was hit by a blue pickup truck. They said the truck reportedly stopped momentarily before driving off.

The boy was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. He was later released.

Now authorities are looking for the driver and the suspect vehicle.

The car is described as a dark blue crew cab style pickup truck. There was a Philadelphia Eagles sticker on the left side of the truck’s back window. The driver is described as a young Hispanic male with black hair. The driver was wearing rainbow-colored sunglasses on his head. There was a female in the front passenger seat of the truck with a child sitting in her lap and another male in the backseat sitting behind the driver.
