One firefighter injured battling Vienna blaze

VIENNA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax County Fire and Rescue officials say one firefighter was injured while battling a two-alarm fire at a Vienna home on Monday.

Officials got the call around 3:15 p.m. for a fire at a two-and-a-half story home located on 1712 Abbey Oak Drive. When crews arrived, they could see heavy smoke and fire coming from the attic and the roof.

Approximately 60 firefighters conducted and aggressive fire attack and brought the black under control in 20 minutes.

No one was home at the home of the fire and no injuries have been reported. The damage is estimated at $300,000.

One firefighter was transported to INOVA Fairfax Hospital for a non-life threatening injury.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
