A story is making its way around social media about how to discretely call for help if an armed suspect arrives to rob you at the ATM machine.

The story claims that if you type in your ATM pin backwards, it will alert the police to your current location.

According to the FTC's report on emergency technology for use with ATMs, the reverse-pin has been rumored to have been available at ATMs for some time despite never being implemented, falling into the realm of urban legend.
