Va. man arrested in malicious wounding

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUS9) -- The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a malicious wounding that happened in the 2500 block of N. Van Dorn Street on Wednesday.

Police said they responded to the area of a report of a stabbing around 5 a.m. Deputies found a man suffering from stab wounds at the scene.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, with life-threatening injuries, authorities said. The investigation shows that the victim knew the suspect.

Thomas Russo, 44, of Alexandria, was charged with malicious wounding. Russo is being help without bound, police said.
