Suspect arrested in MD armed carjacking

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) -- The Prince George's County Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect in connection with an armed carjacking.

Officials report that Donta Valentine of Clinton, Maryland was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the armed carjacking that took place on May 31st in Bowie.

According to officials Valentine has been charged with first and second degree assault, robbery, armed robbery, carjacking, reckless endangerment, handgun on person, firearm use during a felonious violent crime, theft: $10,000 to $100,000 and Theft: Less than $1,000.

Valentine was arrested in the 3500 block of Terrace Drive in Suitland, Maryland, the sheriff's office reports. Officials say that Valentine was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Prince George's County Department of Corrections.
