Md. man arrested for attempted murder

Hyattsville, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Hyattsville man who assaulted and attempted to kill a person in September 2013 was arrested recently.

Celvin Eulises Meja- Ramos was issued an arrest warrant by the Circuit Court of Prince George's County on January 8, 2014 for attempted first degree murder, the sheriff's office said.

Meja-Ramos assaulted a man with a handgun and attempted to kill him, deputies said.

The warrant and fugitive division was able to find Meja-Ramos's whereabouts as the 9400 block of Adelphi Road, Hyattsville on January 20, 2014, deputies added.

He is now at the Prince George's County Department of Correction.

Meja-Ramos has been charged with assault first degree, use of handgun in a crime violence, participation in gang activity, carry handgun and conspiracy-murder first degree, according to deputies.
