Man wanted for rape in Md. caught in Pa.

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man accused of raping a girl in 2009 in Upper Marlboro has been captured, according to the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say Omar Martinez-Cruz was found at a business in Chambersburg, Pa. by the U.S. Marshals Task Force recently. He is believed to have fled to El Salvador before it was reported that he raped a girl nine times between March 2009 and April 2009. Deputies later discovered that he may be back in the united states.

Martinez-Cruz was arrested on a warrant for second-degree rape. He is also charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree sex offense, say authorities.

He is awaiting extradition from Pennsylvania to Prince George's County, Md.
