Suspect wanted in Jiffy Lube robbery in Takoma Park

TAKOMA PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Takoma Park police are looking for a suspect who robbed the Jiffy Lube on New Hampshire Avenue the night of April 7th.

Police say employees were closing the business when a man dressed in a gray hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants entered with a silver handgun. He then jumped over the counter and confronted the nearest employee, according to police.

The man then had a second employee show him where the money was before taking personal property from the employee and fleeing. Police tell us the man ran up the stairs between Mid-Atlantic Seafood and Jiffy Lube and then towards Sheridan Avenue and the wooded line. A K-9 tracked the man's scent from the woods down to 4th and Orchard Avenue where the track was lost.

If you have any information on the suspect or the crime, please contact Detective Greg Wolff at 301-891-7116.
