Suspects pistol-whip employee, steal ATM in Mt. Ranier

MOUNT RANIER, Md. (WUSA9) -- Mount Ranier Police are looking for three men who pistol-whipped and held a gas station employee at gunpoint as they made off with the station's ATM.

Mount Ranier Police say they responded to the BP gas station in the 4500 block of Eastern Avenue after receiving a report of an ATM theft around 3:00 a.m. Monday. Once on scene the officers found the employee, who had suffered minor injuries at the hands of his assailants. The employee tells WUSA9 one of the three suspects held him at gunpoint while the other two robbers carried out one of the station's two machines.

Metropolitan Police say they were asked to be on the lookout for a white Ford F-250 with yellow markings on the back-end, carrying an ATM.

Mount Ranier Police say two of the three suspects were armed.
