Suspect used counterfeit money at Leesburg Outlets

Leesburg, Va. (WUSA9) -- Leesburg police need your help identifying a suspect who they say used counterfeit money at several stores in the Leesburg Corner Premium Outlet Mall.

Police say an unknown male suspect made small purchases from Wilson's Leather, Claire's, Stride Rite Keds Sperry, and L'eggs Hanes Bali Playtex stores using counterfeit $100 bills on January 11. The suspect would make small purchases in order to get the most cash back, according to officials.

The suspect also tried to use the counterfeit bills at the Converse Store but was denied by store employees, say officials.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium build, wearing dark pants, a stocking cap, and a black and white striped lightweight jacket.
