Suspect injured in officer-involved shooting in SE

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- D.C. police are investigating an officer involved shooting that happened early Wednesday morning.

Police say an officer shot a suspect in the leg around midnight in the 2500 block of Minnesota Ave., SE. The officer was not injured.

We're told the officer was responding to an initial call for a robbery in the area.

The suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A block of Fairlawn Ave. is closed between Burns St. and N St.
