Suspect attacks Sears employee, runs off

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WUSA) -- Police are searching for a suspect who was detained at a Sears store after being suspected of shoplifting.

The suspect then showed a knife to one of the employees and in attempt to run away, he flung the knife which hit the employee on the head, police said.

The incident happened around 2:14 p.m. at the Sears located inside Marley Station Mall which is at 7900 Ritchie Highway South in Glen Burnie.

The store employee was treated on the scene, police said.

The suspect fled in a car waiting outside. Police describe him as a white male in his 30's, 5'08" to 5'10" with a medium build, fair complexion with black short hair and unshaven wearing navy blue jeans/pants, blue/red/white plaid shirt, black shoes, and wore a black Orioles baseball cap.
