WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Two pedestrians were killed and a third was critically injured in three separate vehicle crashes in the DC region early Saturday morning.
Two of the drivers did not stop and are still being sought, police said. The three crashes occurred in a 30-minute span.
At about 5:40 a.m., a man was struck in the 7500 block of Greenbelt Road in Greenbelt in Prince George's County. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the scene.
Greenbelt City Police have not released the name of the victim.
At about 6 a.m., a woman in her mid-30's to early 40's was hit by a tractor trailer at 14th Street and Constitution Avenue NW. The driver did not stop at the scene.
Police say the woman was transported to George Washington University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly before 7 a.m.
Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the victim and providing additional information.
The woman is described as either Asian or white, with dark hair. She was wearing a multi-colored top, black Spandex pants, and Asics running shoes. She was also wearing several yellow metal bracelets and was carrying a Sony CD Walkman.
Footage from a surveillance camera revealed the striking vehicle to be a white tractor with a conventional cab. It has a rear window and an air deflector attached to a flatbed containing a scissor lift and a rectangular crate.
The vehicle was traveling northbound on 14th Street, NW at the time. Police said the driver might not be aware that a pedestrian had been struck.

At 6:10 a.m., a 22-year-old Falls Church man suffered life-threatening injuries while attempting to cross Arlington Boulevard between Patrick Henry Drive and East Manchester Street in Fairfax County.
Police said they believe the victim, whose identity was not released, was in the crosswalk when he was struck. He was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Police said the driver, who was traveling eastbound, did not stop at the scene. The vehicle likely has front-end damage and possibly a damaged windshield, headlights, and driver's side mirror, police said.
