FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (WUSA) -- A man died Sunday night following a single-vehicle accident in the Mount Vernon section of Fairfax County.
The accident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on Fort Hunt Road at Marine Drive. Fairfax County Police spokesperson Mary Ann Jennings said the driver was ejected from his car after going into a ditch, and then got pinned under the vehicle.
He was taken to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, where he died a short time later.
An adult female passenger was also injured in the accident, but not seriously, Jennings said.
