WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA)--DC Police are still trying to pull a car out of the Anacostia River and trying to determine why it ended in there.
Police officials say that around 1:14 AM, two people drove a car right into the Anacostia River at the 1900 block of M Street SW. The two individuals managed to get out of the car and are reportedly uninjured.
Police say the car went into a deep part of the river and that they needed to send divers in to help them get the car out.
Police officials would not say how the two occupants of the car had explained the accident.
