
WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA)-- Oh My GOFF! Twilight's "New Moon" eclipse box office records taking in just under $141 million in its opening Weekend. 2012 came in second.
Songstress Taylor Swift has another trophy to add to the case after winning Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards. Michael Jackson also won 4 out of the 5 awards for which he was nominated. Speaking of MJ, the late singer's former doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray is reportedly going back to work. Murray's attorney told the AP he'll be back in his office in Houston. Murray remains the focus of Jackson's death investigation, but has not been charged with any crimes.
Happening around Washington: The 7th Annual Red Heart & Soul Gala. Many of the more than 250 guest wore red to the 'Devotion to Children' dinner at The Waterford.
Through auctions and donations more than $80,000 will go towards educational resources for area children, like childcare.
