Man Charged in 2003 Triple Murder In Landover Hills

PALMER PARK, Md. (WUSA/PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY POLICE) -- An arrest has been made in a six-year-old triple murder case that occurred in Landover Hills, Md.

Police announced Thursday that Moises Medina, 29, who is serving a sentence for an unrelated murder, was charged Wednesday with three counts of first-degree murder. He was transferred from the Western Correctional Institute to the Prince George's County Department of Corrections.

On April 8, 2003 at about 1:35 a.m., officers responded to the Stardust Inn in the 7500 block of Annapolis Road for a report of a shooting. Officers found three victims with gunshot wounds. Francisco Javier Ornelas, 30, of the 5600 block of 8th Street in Alexandria, Va., Noe Ornelas-Cruz, 22, and Robert Roman Jr., 19, both from the 7700 block of Garrison Road in Lanham, Md., were pronounced dead at the scene.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Medina on Nov. 13.
