BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA) -- A 47-year-old construction worker was killed Wednesday afternoon after apparently falling from a ladder or the roof of a house he was working on in Bethesda, police said.

Montgomery County police spokesperson Melanie Brenner said police were called to a home in the 5500 block of Johnson Avenue just after 1 p.m. They said the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was a sub-contractor from Hedgesville, W.Va.

Brenner said it appeared from a preliminary investigation that the man fell from the roof or a ladder.

On Saturday, a 35-year-old man was killed on Selkirk Drive in Bethesda after suffering an injury from a chain saw while trimming a branch and then falling off a ladder.
