
ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA) -- A 41-year-old Rockville man has been arrested and charged with two armed robberies that occurred Friday in Montgomery County.
Brendon Fuller Friedman, of the 5400 block of McGrath Boulevard in Rockville, was charged Friday night with robbing a Safeway pharmacy in Bethesda and an M&T Bank in Rockville, police announced Saturday.
Montgomery County police said they responded to the robbery at the Safeway at 5000 Bradley Boulevard in Bethesda at 3:25 p.m. About 90 minutes later, they responded to the M&T Bank at 5910 Executive Boulevard in Rockville.
Police said the suspect walked to the pharmacy counter at the Safeway, displayed a handgun and demanded Xanax and Oxycontin. He was wearing a blue surgical mask and a black knit hat and carrying a duffel bag. He The pharmacist gave him a quantity of drugs, and the suspect fled on foot.
The suspect entered the M&T bank with a black backpack, approached a teller and displayed a note demanding cash, police said. The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of money, and the suspect fled on foot.
Police said they received confidential information that helped lead them to Friedman. At about 7:45 p.m., he was stopped by police in the 8800 block of southbound Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.
He remains incarcerated on a $20,000 bond.
