PROVIDENCE, N.Y. (AP) -- A dog found bound with duct tape, stuffed into a trash bag and left to die in the upstate New York woods is recovering after being rescued by a hunter.

Ed Dandaraw says he was hunting in a swampy area on his Saratoga County property last weekend when he came across a black garbage bag. Inside he found a beagle whose head, midsection and front paws were wrapped in duct tape.

Dandaraw took the dog to an emergency veterinary clinic, where a microchip implanted under the dog's skin helped locate her owners.

The beagle, named Daisy, had been missing for two weeks before being found Sunday on the southeastern edge of the Adirondacks, about five miles from where her owners live.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Department confirmed the dog had been found but hasn't provided any details.
