
Alexandria, Va. (WUSA) -- The line of people outside another local H1N1 vaccination clinics has become a common scene. The way the system is working at the Alexandria Health Department however, is new. Health officials gave out numbers to people. The Health Department Director Lisa Kaplowitz tells 9NEWS NOW the number system reduced confusion for people in line. So if people are handed a number, they are assured they will get inside the clinic.
Many folks in line were worried about the limited number of nasal H1N1 vaccine doses available. Julie Arthor is a mother of four who recently recovered from the virus.
She says, "I just had the virus two weeks ago, and I don't want my children to have to go through what I had to go through. I want them to have protection."
Some people fear that the virus is spreading at a very rapid pace.
Christine Ogden says, "I'm worried for my other six kids, one of them has flu-like symptoms, but we don't know what it is, and one has asthma."
As for the the flu shots, no injectable vaccine will be available at this site at this time.
