RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- First-time voters have less than one week to register to cast ballots in Virginia's November 3rd general election. The deadline to register or to update a voter registration is Oct. 5.
The State Board of Elections said Tuesday that calls about registering and other election-related questions are increasing as the deadline approaches.
Virginia residents can see sample ballots and check their voter status and polling places online at the board's Web site, www.sbe.virginia.gov.
Assistance also is available by calling the board at 1-800-552-9745 or the local registrar's office.
