SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA) -- Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen joined Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan for a "Back to School" event in Silver Spring.
The get-together, called 'We Are What We Learn,' was held at Viers Mill Elementary School.
Secretary Donovan spoke to students before watching the President's speech. After the speech, Secretary Donovan engaged in a discussion with students about the importance of setting high educational goals.
Viers Mill has received national recognition for high achievement among low income students.
