ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA) -- The woman who police say was killed by her estranged husband in Lothian, Maryland had just gotten a restraining order against him six days ago.
Sheena Blandford says her husband Theodore was high on crack and tried to run her over, and then chased her with a hammer on August 17th. Her protective order took effect August 27th.
Besides shooting Sheena Blandford to death at her home, Theodore Blandford also killed her sister, Cheryl Timmons, who was staying with her.
Prince George's County Police chased Blandford into Southeast DC where officers opened fire on him. He died of multiple gunshot wounds at the hospital.
Sheena Blandford's pastor, Karen Johnson of the First Christian Community Church in Annapolis married the couple on June 29, 2008. That's about three months after Sheena Blandford held a funeral for her son, Michael Matlock, Jr. at the same church. The Army Specialist was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq in February of 2008.
Funerals for Sheena and her sister are still being finalized.
DC Police continue to investigate the shooting at Minnesota Avenue, SE where Blandford was killed.
