Prince George's Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With Student

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- A high school teacher from Maryland has been accused of having sex with a 16-year-old female student at his Alexandria home.

Mark Jackson is an ROTC instructor at Charles Herbert Flowers High School in Springdale, in Prince George's County.

According to papers filed in federal court in Alexandria, Jackson befriended the girl in September 2008, when she was in one of his classes. Authorities allege they began having sex in December.

The papers indicate that the girl's mother suspected something was going on and placed a recorded telephone call to Jackson from a police station. Jackson allegedly admitted having sex with the girl one time.

Court papers did not indicate that Jackson has an attorney. He's charged with taking a minor across state lines for sex.
