
WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Metropolitan Police are investigating the shooting deaths of two men that occurred in Northwest DC on Friday night and early Saturday.
Kenneth Tate, 47, of the unit block of P Street, NW, was pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting that occurred about 2 a.m. Saturday in the 4200 block of Illinois Avenue. The case is being treated as a homicide.
Michael Dwayne Parker, 31, of the 4000 block of Livingston Road, SE, was pronounced dead at an area hospital shortly after a shooting that occurred about 9 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of Girard Street, NW. Police said he might have been shot during an alleged confrontation with a Special Police Officer employed by a private company.
Police said the Parker case is under active investigation and that all facts will be presented to the United States Attorney's Office for review.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for a homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
