LOS ANGELES (WUSA)--She was probably one of the most famous spokesdogs out there. And her job wasn't an easy one--pitching fast food. Tacos to be specific..
Gidget was world famous for her Taco Bell commercials.
"She made so many people happy," Gidget's trainer, Sue Chipperton. told People magazine.
Gidget suffered a massive stroke late Tuesday at Chipperton's house in Santa Clarita. The 15-year-old Chihuahua had to be euthanized.
Gidget was the sassy mascot in the Taco Bell commercials from 1997 to 2000. While other dogs had bit parts, it was Gidget's bug-eyed, big-eared face that is seen pronouncing, in a dubbed male voice, "Yo quiero Taco Bell," which is Spanish for "I want Taco Bell."
Gidget's commercial popularity catapulted the pint-sizer into movie stardom as well. She also had a role in the movie, "Legally Blonde 2" with Reese Witherspoon.
