ESSEX, Md. (AP) -- The National Weather Service has confirmed that tornados struck in Harford and Baltimore counties and a waterspout formed over the Chesapeake Bay.

The National Weather service says three thunderstorms developed into supercells on Saturday afternoon and produced the tornados and waterspout.

A dozen trees were uprooted in Harford County by a tornado with peak winds estimated at 75 mph struck.

In Baltimore County, a tornado with winds around 70 mph blew a tree onto an Essex home. Officials say the home was severely damaged, but no injuries were reported as no one was home at the time. Winds reached 90 mph as the storm reached the Balliston Point area.

A storm over Anne Arundel County traveled over the Chesapeake Bay and formed a waterspout that passed by Kent Island, but dissipated before it reached land.
