WASHINGTON (AP) -- D.C. police say two people have been shot in the leg near the Columbia Heights Metro station in a busy section of northwest Washington.

Police spokeswoman Traci Hughes says none of the injuries is considered life-threatening.

Police say the shooting happened about 3:15 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of 14th and Irving streets. The area includes several restaurants, including Five Guys. The bustling shopping center DC USA also is nearby.

Hughes says police do not have a suspect in custody.

D.C. officials say several roads in the area are closed, along with the Metro station's south entrance.
