1. Live Jazz At Smithsonian Sculpture Garden
Hours: Fridays, 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Rain or Shine
Price: Free
Kick off this annual summer tradition with Jazz and R&B vocalist Lady "A" (Adrienne Brooks) at The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. You may also purchase food and picnic baskets. The Garden is located on 700 Constitution Ave. N.W. The closest Metro stops: Smithsonian and L'Enfant Plaza.
2. Friday Night Live! Herndon's Outdoor Concert Series
Hours: Fridays, 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Price: Free
The Reggae band, Black Sheep, plays this Friday on the 15th season of this outdoor concert series located on 777 Lynn St., Herndon Va. Free parking is available. No pets are allowed. Call for weather and updates: 703-481-6133.

The home of George Washington opens up at night to the public in the spirit of the movie debut, Night at the Museum 2. Mt. Vernon's Education Center will feature "wandering exhibits" where live characters will "pop out " of displays.
4. Rosslyn's "I Love The 80s" Outdoor Film Festival
Hours: Dusk and movie starts 8-8:30 p.m. on Fridays
Price: Free
The movie, "16 Candles," plays this Friday at Gateway Park. The public may show up early to picnic. Outdoor games and prizes will be available. The event is two blocks from Rosslyn Metro station. Garage parking is available after 6 p.m. on N. Moore Street.
5. Rolling Thunder Veterans Reach Crystal City
Hours: Around 3 p.m.
Price: Free
Watch the war veterans roll into town on their motorcycles. They will reach the Hyatt Regency in Crystal City, 2799 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Va., 22202. Visit the website for a complete list of their weekend schedule.
6. Kennedy Center Millennium Stage Concert
Hours: 6 p.m. daily; No tickets required
Price: Free
The University of Rochester's Arabesque Winds performs on Friday. Take the free Kennedy Center Shuttle bus from the Foggy Bottom-GW Metro Station.
7. Metropolis Now! Art Exhibit
Hours: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Wednesday to Sunday)
Price: Free
The exhibit showcases 31 artists depicting contemporary China. Paintings, drawings, video, sculptures will all be on display at the Meridian International Center in Washington DC.
8. Interactive Beach Map: Nation Top Beaches Health Report

3. City of Alexandria 32nd Memorial Day Jazz Festival
