WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- A fisherman spotted a body floating on the Potomac River at 9:20 a.m. Police have not been able to identify the body but believe it is that of 37 year old Hau Nguyen.

Nguyen was fishing next to 11 year old Jorge Castro, when the boy slipped and fell on some rocks. Nguyen jumped in after him. Both were pulled under by a strong current last Sunday evening.

Police say Nguyen's body was recovered on the Virginia side of the Potomac River near chain bridge, very close to where the Falls Church man and the boy were last seen.

Castro's family hasn't heard any news as they continue their desperate search for any sign of the Winchester boy.

WUSA talked with Nguyen's brother-in-law, Thanh Vo. Family members were waiting Saturday afternoon outside the D.C. medical examiner's office. Vo says his brother-in-law was a gentle and caring man. He says Nguyen was a good swimmer and he did what would come naturally to anyone: jump in and try to save the boy. Vo has a message to those who visit the Potomac River, "I think it's better to wear the vest." He also says no one thinks the worst could happen when everyone is enjoying the weather and is out fishing.

Nguyen leaves behind a wife and two children, a 9 year old girl and 2 year old boy.
