
HERNDON, Va. (WUSA) -- Police in Fairfax County have taken a teenager into custody for stabbing his 19-year-old girlfriend to death Sunday afternoon.
Officials tell 9 NEWS NOW police arrested the 17-year-old boy at his home in the 12700 block of Magna Carta Road after an investigation revealed the suspect and his girlfriend, Siobhan L. Russell of the Oak Hill area, were at his home when they began to argue. The suspect stabbed Russell one time in the upper body with a large knife, killing her.
The suspect has been charged with homicide and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
Officials say this is the third homicide in Fairfax County this year.
