
WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA) - Prince William county police say they have locked up three suspects in a brazen armed robbery, after a trio of masked gunmen robbed an armored car of cash outside a bank in the Lake Ridge area Wednesday afternoon.
A police spokesperson tells 9 NEWS NOW officers apprehended three suspects overnight, and recovered a large amount of cash. Police officials have scheduled a news conference for 2:00 p.m. Thursday to release additional details in the case.
On Wednesday, Police were called shortly after 1 p.m. for an armed robbery at the Bank of America 1708 Old Bridge Road. Officers learned that an armored car was delivering money to the bank's ATM when the suspects struck.
Three armed men approached the armored car employees, and threatened them with guns. The three robbers were wearing all black clothes and Halloween masks. Police report the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash, and then fled.
Police say no one was injured during the robbery.
