MIDDLEBURG, Va. (WUSA) - The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted sexual assault in the Middleburg area. It happened Saturday evening around 8:00 p.m. A woman who was tending to horses at a barn in the area of Saint Louis Road reported she had been approached by an unknown man who grabbed the woman and threw her to the ground.

The victim struggled with the man as he assaulted her. The suspect also demanded money from the victim. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 5'7" tall, with a medium build, wearing dark clothes and, police say, was covering his face.

After seeing the headlights of a vehicle, the suspect fled from the area in the direction of Route 50. The area was searched with canine units from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office. A Virginia State Police helicopter also assisted in the search but the suspect was not located.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Loudoun County Sheriff's at 703-777-0475. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919.
