DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) -- The Prince George's County Fire Department says nine people have been injured in a five-car crash near District Heights.

Fire department spokesman Mark Brady says three people were trapped in a car at the intersection of Route 4 and Silver Hill Road about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday.

He says those three were hospitalized with serious injuries, including broken arms and legs. He said the injuries aren't believed to be life-threatening.

The other six have less serious injuries and were still taken to an area hospital.

Brady says police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
