WASHINGTON DC (WUSA) -- FBI agents have been knocking on doors in the Spring Valley neighborhood of DC. They are asking Eric Holder's neighbors if there is any reason he should not be a solid candidate for US Attorney General.

9 News Now was also in the neighborhood off Massachusetts Avenue in Northwest Today.

Neighbors were excited that Holder is reportedly taking the job as Attorney General nominee for President Elect Barack Obama.

Holder is a former DC Attorney General and Superior Court Judge. His wife is a prominent OBGYN, Sharon Malone. They have three children, the oldest is 15, and close associates say the wife isn't too thrilled about his taking the job as AG.

Holder was hold up today in his offices at Covington-Burling on Pennsylvania NW. His staff says he wasn't taking media calls.
