LEONARDTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The manslaughter trial of a Prince George's County police officer has begun.
Officer Scott Campbell is charged with causing a May 2007 pileup on the Capital Beltway that killed two people and injured 15.
Prosecutors told jurors Monday that Campbell had "tunnel vision" as he pursued a speeding motorcyclist.
The trial was moved to St. Mary's County Circuit Court because of publicity in Prince George's.
While the jury was out of the courtroom, prosecutors said Campbell switched off the camera in his cruiser and turned off his flashing lights. They called it an attempt to destroy evidence, which the defense denied.
