POTOMAC, Md. (WUSA) -- Someone is not happy with the speed camera on River Road in Montgomery County. Several drivers tell 9NEWS NOW someone painted the word "SCAM" in large, white letters along the road - right in front of a speed camera. Sky9 captured video over the scene, showing just how large the letters are. It is written just north of Falls Road in Potomac.

Speed cameras have been in use in Montgomery County for over a year, as part of a state-wide program in Maryland. People caught going ten miles an hour or more over the limit receive a fine in the mail, however no points are added to their license.

What do you think about the person who did this? Are speed and red-light cameras good for safety, or are they just a scam? Leave your comments below.
