GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County Police say they arrested six people from Gaithersburg and Germantown on firearms- and drug-related charges after someone posted photos of drugs and firearms on social media pages.
According to police, detectives received information in July about photos of firearms and drugs posted on someone's social media pages. Detectives and the Quince Orchard School Resource Officer launched an investigation into the person and several other people.
Then, on Oct. 11, detectives and the school rescource officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Darnestown Road and Muddy Branch Road on a vehicle with several of the suspects inside of it. Police say during that stop, they found that another person was in possession of firearms and marijuana.
SWAT and other law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 12300 block of Triple Crown Road in North Potomac. The SWAT team found a suspect, later identified as Darel Gettier, armed with two handguns, say police. Forty five firearms, a large quantity of marijuana, and 7 people smoking marijuana were also found inside the home, according to police.
Later, a second search warrant was executed at a home in the 18400 block of Cottage Garden Drive in Germantown. Police say a large quantity of marijuana was found there.
Six people were arrested, charged and released on bond, including:
•16-year-old Ethan K. Gettier (charged as an adult). He is charged with possession of a firearm by a minor, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute CDS and possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime.
•63-year-old Darel J. Gettier. He is charged with allowing a minor access to a handgun, keeping a disorderly house and maintaining a common nuisance to administer CDS.
•18-year-old Anand M. Javeri. He is charged with CDS distribution, and possession with intent to distribute CDS.
•18-year-old Khaliq R. Thomas. He is charged with CDS distribution, and possession with intent to distribute CDS.
•18-year-old Devon Rubenstein. He is charged with possession of marijuana via criminal citation.
•20-year-old Connor Fellows. He is charged with possession of marijuana via criminal citation.
