(WUSA9) -- A woman is charged with indecent exposure and soliciting for prostitution after an incident that occurred this weekend in St. Mary's County.
Sheriff's office authorities say a deputy responded to a report of a female exposing herself to traffic on Maryland Route 246/Great Mills Road) in Lexington Park on Saturday. The deputy found 44-year-old Sheila Vernon of Lexington Park walking in the parking lot of a business, say authorities.
When the deputy caught up with her, authorities say Vernon had entered the passenger seat of a vehicle in the lot. The deputy later determined that Vernon had solicited the driver.
Authorities say Vernon was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure and Soliciting for Prostitution.
She was released to the custody of the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner, say authorities.
