WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Former Redskins running back Clinton Portis has joined other former NFL players in a lawsuit against the league over concussions.
According to the lawsuit, which was filed in a Florida District Court, Portis "sustained mild traumatic brain injuries caused by concussive and sub-concussive impacts while playing in the NFL."
Joining Portis on the list of plaintiffs are Daunte Culpepper and Carnell "Cadillac" Williams, among others.
"As a result of the numerous concussions suffered during his playing career, Plaintiff Portis suffers from; inter alia, headaches," The lawsuit continues. "Plaintiff Portis is also at heightened risk of
developing further adverse neurological symptoms in the future."
"This case seeks a declaration of liability, injunctive relief, medical monitoring, and financial compensation for the long-term chronic injuries, financial losses, expenses, and intangible losses suffered by the Plaintiffs and Plaintiffs' Spouses as a result of the Defendants' intentional tortious misconduct, including fraud, intentional misrepresentation, and negligence," The legal document reads.
