WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- It was designed as a fallback option to force Congress to agree on ways to cut the federal deficit, but Friday officially begins the automatic across-the-board cuts known as sequestration.
President Obama and congressional leaders plan to meet at the White House, but it seems all-but-certain that the $85 billion in federal budget cuts will begin to take effect.
