WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) - The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for help locating a car and driver in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed 20 year-old Darnell Christopher Ross of Upper Marlboro, Md..

The crash occurred in the 100 block of M Street, Northeast D.C. at about 10:38 p.m. Saturday, February 16.

Saturday night a First District unit was flagged down and referenced to a person struck by a vehicle.  The investigation showed that Ross fell on the road in the crosswalk in the 100 block of M Street, NE and then was run over by a vehicle.

DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services took the Ross to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The driver of the vehicle that hit Ross didn't remain at the scene.
