double-digits in points as the third-ranked Huskies handled Marquette with
ease, 94-37, on Tuesday.
Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis scored a game-high 22 points of 8-for-10 shooting,
including 5-of-6 from three-point range. Bria Hartley had 20 points, while
Stefanie Dolson recorded 15 points and four blocks for the Huskies (21-1, 8-1
Big East), who have won nine straight.
Connecticut shot 54.7 percent from the field and was 15-of-23 from behind the
arc.
Brooklyn Pumroy was the only member of Marquette to record double-digits in
points, scoring 11 for the Golden Eagles (11-11, 3-6), who came into the game
off a win against DePaul on Saturday.
Marquette was offensively inept, shooting just 25 percent for the game.
The game was out of reach for the Golden Eagles before the first half could
even end. Pumroy made a 3-pointer in the first 35 seconds, but Marquette
would not score any points for the next six minutes, as the Huskies went on a
19-0 run.
Connecticut continuously pounded against Marquette, scoring 31 points in the
first nine minutes alone. By halftime, the score was 62-17.
The Huskies didn't let up in the second half. Though they recorded only half
as many points as the first, they limited Marquette to score just 20
points on 8-of-26 shooting.
