Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - Kyle Randall scored 16 points for the Central
Michigan Chippewas as they coasted to a 71-57 Mid-American Conference victory
over the Ball State Cardinals at the Worthen Arena.
Randall was 6-of-12 from the field with five rebounds for Central Michigan
(9-8, 2-2 MAC), as it ended a two-game losing slide. Olivier Mbaigoto finished
with 12 points, six rebounds and three blocks while Blake Hibbitts added 12
points off the bench.
Majok Majok managed a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds for the
Ball State (7-9, 1-3), which has lost three in a row. Jauwan Scaife was the
only other Cardinal to score in double-figures with 13 points but Matt
Kamieniecki led the team in rebounding with 10 boards, seven of which came on
the offensive end.
Ball State led 37-35 at the break after shooting 46.4 percent from the field
and knocking down six 3-pointers in the first half.
In the second half, it was all Central Michigan, as the Chippewas held the
Cardinals to 34.6 percent shooting to outscore them, 36-20.
CMU forced Ball State into 17 turnovers which resulted in 15 points for the
Chippewas, who were guilty of just seven miscues.
