Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Javon McCrea posted a double-double with 21
points and 14 rebounds to lead the Buffalo Bulls to a 68-65 victory over the
Bowling Green Falcons in a Mid-American Conference contest at Alumni Arena.
For the Bulls (6-12, 1-3 MAC), Jarryn Skeet added 16 points.
Jordan Crawford led the Falcons (6-11, 1-3) with 18 points, while A'uston
Calhoun finished with 16 points and Chauncey Orr chipped in 14 points.
Both teams struggled from the floor to start the game. Bowling Green shot
just 39.4 percent from the field, but did connect on 6-of-8 from 3-point range
that helped them to take a 33-25 lead into halftime. Buffalo made 34.6
percent of their field goal tries, including 3-of-12 from beyond the 3-point
arc in the opening 20 minutes.
After the break, the Bulls picked up the pace, knocking down 53.8 percent of
their field goal attempts, including 4-of-9 from 3-point distance. The Falcons
shot just 34.6 percent from the field and missed all but one of their six 3-
point tries after halftime. The teams traded leads throughout the second
half. With the score tied, 63-63, in the final minute of play, McCrea scored
four of the final five points to pull out the victory for the Bulls.
Bulls had a slight edge on the boards, outrebounding the Falcons 37-36. The
Falcons had the edge in points in the paint, 30-22.
