Puerto Vallarta, MX (Sports Network) - Anthony Myles scored 14 points to lead
the Rider Broncs to a 74-60 victory over the Milwaukee Panthers in
consolation-round action of the Hoops for Hope Classic in Puerto Vallarta.
Myles was 3-of-8 from the field, adding seven points at the free-throw
line, and also grabbed six rebounds in the win for the Broncs (4-3). Daniel
Stewart and Junior Fortunat each scored 11 points while Jonathon Thompson
posted seven points, five assists, five rebounds, and four steals.
Reserve Evan Richard led the Panthers (2-4) in scoring with 11 points and
Austin Arians followed with 10 points and four rebounds off the bench as well.
Demetrius Harris also recorded 10 points and four rebounds.
Rider led 43-31 at the end of the first half after shooting 50.0 percent from
the field, including 5-of-10 behind the three-point line.
The Broncs outscored the Panthers 31-29 in the second half despite shooting
38.1 percent from the field, missing all six opportunities on the perimeter
and converting just 15-of-25 at the free-throw line.
Rider took the lead just under three minutes into the game and never let it
go, leading by as much as 22 midway through the second half. Milwaukee, which
turned the ball over 15 times, was just 5-of-24 behind the three-point line in
the meeting.
